JavaScript Job Details

The Company - HealthRota is a HealthTech company founded and owned by developers with the ambition to change the way the NHS manages its resources so that it can focus on patient care, avoid unnecessary administration and get the best use of its available resource. The company started with a marital problem, the founder’s wife as an A&E doctor was frustrated by the inflexibility of work time and was going to leave the NHS to re-establish a better work-life balance. Following many conversations about the value NHS staff bring to society – the founder (through HealthRota) decided to transform the way the NHS manages its resources to improve flexible working, re-empower NHS staff and strip out inefficiencies for the Trusts’ running the NHS services – and his wife decided to remain as an A&E Doctor.

Come and join a successful team of 6 developers with a clear mission, unique team ethos and make a direct impact on our social environment.

The Role

A front-end or full stack software developer to join an experienced development team, with the opportunity to influence the roadmap, be given autonomy on specific features and the support, time and mentorship required to learn. HealthRota use Amazon AWS to host the applications. Beyond building out new capability, current plans involve refactoring the technology from Angular JS to Angular 10+, a migration of code from Ruby on Rails to a Java server

Experience:

The successful candidate will have at least three years experience and be able to demonstrate that they have worked on at least one project that successfully reached production.

You will have a good understanding of relational databases and SQL.

You will have experience of Javascript / Typescript, web development (including Ruby on Rails) and front-end frameworks (ideally Angular 2+)

You will have at least a basic understanding of HTML/CSS.

You will ideally have experience in API development, ideally integrating a web front-end with a JSON-based API you have built, or integrating with an existing API built by another team or 3rd party

We’d expect that the candidate to have worked in a team with other developers (and possibly testers) rather than in isolation.
